Mission Statement

Welcome to LeHavreReport.com, a website dedicated to all things LeHavre.

I'm J.P. Martin, a 50-year resident of LeHavre. The 32 buildings that make up the LeHavre complex were built in 1956. Originally named **Levitt House**, the complex was named after its developer, who also built Levittown on Long Island. It was constructed with cinder block and steel on approximately 28 acres.

Over the years, the property has gone through many ownership changes, including a period of receivership, and eventually became a cooperative with approximately 300 rent-stabilized tenants in the 1990s. I served as president of the tenants' association from 1990 to 1995.

The community has undergone many changes over the years, including several name changes, and is now known as **LeHavre on the Water**.

I will be appearing on camera to share my perspective on LeHavre, its co-op management—past and present—maintenance, and what it's been like living here for most of my adult life. I'll discuss both the positive aspects and the challenges to provide a balanced viewpoint.

Drawing on more than half a century of firsthand experience, I'll be sharing my knowledge and opinions for the benefit of all residents. Beginning in the summer of 2026, I will also be regularly podcasting about many of these topics.

Everyone is welcome to read my regular posts. A mailbox will also be set up to receive opinions, comments, and suggestions from all residents.
